This 1975 wine from the Chianti region is from a good cellar and has a good fill. The colour is still good with minimal lightening at the rim. On the nose expect a little cherry, then earth, tobacco, coffee. The fruit is still present on the palate, with nice acidity. A mature wine but still fresh for its age. Great with the wild mushroom pizza.
Tuscan wine (Italian Toscana) is Italian wine from the Tuscany region. Located in central Italy along the Tyrrhenian coast, Tuscany is home to some of the world's most notable wine regions. Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are primarily made with Sangiovese grape whereas the Vernaccia grape is the basis of the white Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

The 1975 vintage is massively underrated, languishing in the shadows of the great 1970 and 1977 vintages. The Ports produced are lighter in style than other declarations but represent tremendous value. The Taylor's 1975 Vintage Port is no exception. Our tastings over the past few years have shown this wine consitently has a good colour in the glass and a mature nose. It has good structure and backbone that is typical of Taylors. It is a touch spirity, with some gentle, stony, red fruits. On the palate there is an immediately apparent sweetness which persists through to the finish.
Reviews "This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal.

The Cantegril ’75 has a sprightly citrus-driven nose with hints of mango and quince developing with time in glass. The palate is bestowed with a touch of spice and dried pineapple on the entry, fanning out with a crisp, dried apricot and marmalade tinged finish.

The 1975 Warre's Vintage Port is from an underrated year where the quality vs value is outstanding.
“Very serious wine, still challenging, with almonds, figs and prunes, all dribbled with bittersweet chocolate. Warm and embracing…”.
Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecker , The Wall Street Journal 03/02/2006
“Gloriously vibrant wet violets nose. What a marvellous mouthful of sweet, voluptuous roses and raisins. Superb – and so youthful”.
Serena Sutcliffe , Sotheby’s Catalogue 17/07/2002
"…sweet, full-bodied, rich, almost too rich, yet not overpowering, with the perfect weight and balance I expect from Warre at its best.
